Welcome to the first edition of The RETRORONTO Report, your go-to source for all the latest happenings and updates in the evolving city of Retroronto! With each edition, we’ll bring you news on the city's progress, upcoming events, unforeseen delays, and future plans in development. Our monthly coverage will offer insights behind the scenes of Retroronto, giving you a closer look at the ongoing changes, improvements, and troubles happening in the city.
Expansion Stalled Amid City Setbacks
Retroronto’s highly anticipated new district remain under construction as expected issues bring progress to a standstill.
The city’s latest expansion has recently encountered a series of complications, from traffic jams, bug infestations, and power outages.
Since the latest funding for the district in April, and the start of construction in June, the downtown core district of Retroronto has seen months of crucial growth and development.
This comes after the project was originally slated for completion last month, leaving many citizens confused and frustrated as delays continue to mount.
City officials assure residents that the majority of issues are now behind them.
A spokesperson commented on the situation, stating, “Such rapid expansion often comes with complications. We’ve taken steps to address these challenges and are confident things will be running smoothly in no time.”
Despite the growing frustrations all round, others are taking a more patient approach to the delays. Some local residents expressed understanding, saying “You can’t rush something as big as this, and if they need more time to get it right, then so be it.”
On the other hand, local business owners were less forgiving about the setbacks. “It’s been a month since we were promised this new district, and my business has been suffering for it since this all started!”
A project supervisor on-site gave us a more personal perspective. “Traffic isn’t even the issue, it’s the bugs. They tend to mess with the inner workings, which lead to the power outages, which then leads to the traffic problems. Once the bugs are gone, so will we!”
Lead Developer Contract Concluded
As the building contracts for Retroronto’s newest district come to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the invaluable contributions of lead Developer Dor Zairi, who’s work has been instrumental in shaping the city’s latest expansion.
Since Dor’s inclusion into the project, essential infrastructure for the city has been reinforced, and much of the architecture to grow Retroronto’s economy has been established. His work in the city is set to breathe new life and business, to help grow Retroronto as the vibrant cultural hub it plans to be.
With Dor’s departure, the development team will continue to finish construction initiated and supported by Dor the past few months. Though we may have the opportunity to collaborate with Dor again in the future, we bid him farewell and wish him the best of luck on his next project!
New Businesses Navigate Shifting Economy
With the recent growth of the city, many new businesses opening their doors have been quickly confronted with rising maintenance and operation costs. With the prices of goods and services on the rise, these establishments are finding it increasingly difficult to keep their prices competitive while offering their employees fair wages.
Some business owners express that they might not prioritize wage increases, especially when performance levels among employees fall short. The reasoning often circles back to the bottom line - if expectations aren’t met, there’s less inclination to raise wages, perpetuating a dissatisfying cycle among the workforce.
As the city grapples with these issues, the conversation around fair pay and reasonable pricing is more important than ever for these new businesses and their employees.
Major Changes Prompt Film Trailer Overhaul
A film studio is scrambling to update it’s promotional material after drastic changes to both the movie’s production and the city’s expanding district. Originally announced at a local film festival in July, the movie’s trailer no longer reflects the current direction of the project, following months of reworking scenes to align with Retroronto’s new developments.
The studio now plans to release updated promo content alongside the unveiling of the city’s newest district, promising a final product that better captures both the movie’s vision and the city’s evolving landscape.
“We’ve been working with some newer technology too,” said one of the studio’s producers. “With the city evolving so rapidly, we want to ensure our film reflects that growth, and that it can be accessible to everyone.”

EDITOR’S NOTES
Hello readers! So, this is different! I didn’t like how ‘generic’ the past dev blogs were, so I’m trying to be more creative here. I’m hoping this format will be more engaging and fun to write for the future, as I try to template out a system for communicating about Retroronto’s development.
Everything here is in some way related to the game’s development, whether it’s announcements, cut content, work-in-progress, or ongoing issues. Feel free to inquire at our email address below!
I appreciate the patience and support. The demo is coming very soon, I promise!
Cheers,
